The Registrar’s Office
The Academic Registrar’s office incorporates all aspects of the student learning experience and related student services, from recruitment to graduation. The Registrar is responsible for planning, organising, managing and reporting in relation to the Institute’s quality enhancement programme and for the quality review processes at different levels within the Institute.
The Office of the Registrar is also responsible for coordinating and managing the business of the Academic Council and its Sub Committees such as Academic Quality Assurance, Apprentice Education, and Recruitment & Admissions and for a range of sub-groups and working parties and for bringing forward reports to the Institute’s Executive Committee in this respect.
The Registrar is responsible for the operation of the student registration and examination processes and also oversees activities in relation to support for research and innovation. This includes managing the activities of the Innovation Centre and support for incubation companies.
The Office plays an important role in academic policy formulation and educational development which extends to implementing, reviewing and up-dating a range of academic policies including the Handbook for Academic Quality Enhancement and the Institute’s Marks and Standards regulations, for example, and for the provision of seminars and workshops to introduce emerging learning and teaching techniques.
The Office is also responsible for engaging with national and international HE quality networks and agencies. Further, the Office has a responsibility within the Institute in relation to the Bologna process.
The Office is closely involved in arrangements in relation to partnerships with external institutions/organisations and deals with enquiries in relation to the placement of the Institute’s awards.
